Speaking on the Ray D'Arcy Show following the announcement that Quantity Surveyor Lisa O'Brien will be leaving Room to Improve, Dermot Bannon told Ray that he'd like to see another woman in the role.
Speaking on her departure, Dermot said he wasn't surprised that Lisa was leaving.
"I've kind of known about it for ages because she has a very busy practice and she has set up another company as a contractor."

As QS and co-presenter, Lisa replaced Patricia Power who held the role for an impressive five-year run. Will the next recruit be a woman?
"I think there's something nice - no it doesn't have to be a woman is the answer to that - but I think generally, I'm a man, the builder is a man... I think it's nice to have a female voice in there and I think it's nice to have a female voice from the construction industry."
"There's not enough women working in the construction industry, women bring an awful lot to the construction industry."

Dermot also told Ray that while his house is not sold yet, a lot of people came to see it, "I think a lot of them were tyre kickers".
In the meantime, he has bought a new house that he will be doing up - but will he do it on camera?
"I wouldn't do a Room to Improve on it, I'd do something different but yeah... I haven't spoken to anyone about this yet."
He continued: "I would like to do something on television with my own house but how? I haven't worked that out yet."
