Want a memorable funeral? This hearse should do the trick

Sometimes, the traditional funeral doesn’t always do a person's life justice, and you may need to go above and beyond the call of duty to provide a fitting tribute.

Aaron Grew from Scotstown, Co Monaghan has set up a business that attempts to do just that. It’s called My Hearse My Way and it gives farmers, especially, a fitting way to leave this world – towed by a tractor (or a lorry or any legal vehicle with a tow bar fitted).

My Hearse, My Way

Well, this idea was quirky enough to prick Brenda Donohue’s curiosity! So much so that she headed to the workshop in Co. Monaghan to see it for herself.

In essence, Aaron cut the back off a regular hearse, and converted it to a towable trailer with all the appropriate equipment to make it fully roadworthy.

"My Hearse, My Way has been established to provide a personally tailored and professional send off to your departed loved one", Mr. Grew told Brenda.

"Our hearses offer a unique opportunity for a family member to transport their loved one for one last spin to the church behind their own favourite tractor, lorry, harvester, quad, car or business van," he explained.

Aaron works with his father, Alo, in the family joinery business, Carnmore Joinery Ltd. They are clearly a highly skilled family.
