Radio presenter, new mother, and beauty lover Louise McSharry has created a brand new podcast, No Filter for RTÉ 2fm's The Collective. We caught up with the lovely Louise to find out what it's all about.

"I'd actually been thinking about a podcast for the last few years, it really felt like there was a space for content that was geared specifically for women - young women in particular - talking about the kind of issues that we're all talking about on social media all the time but that don't seem to make it to radio very often."

Louise felt that there was a gap in the market when it came to discussing women's issues which is why her podcast focuses on powerful women and their stories, from Maeve Higgins speaking about her move to New York to Una Mullally discussing her life as a "bad ass journalist".

"For a long time I felt that there was a gap and then when I was on my maternity leave I was like 'OK when I got back, I have to do this'. Mostly because I do a music show for 2fm which I really enjoy but I really love talk content, that's my real passion and where I'd like to end up and I just really wanted to use that muscle."

While well-known Irish figures such as Maeve and Una feature on the show, Louise is determined to have a range of guests from acclaimed author Louise O'Neill to the lesser known spoken word artist FeliSpeaks.

"There's a bit more space [in podcasts] to be looser, there's less onus on me to be a super formal interviewer and that's not what that is, it's very much a conversation and I think the guests are enjoying that. It is a chat, I don't have a list of questions.

"It's quite loose and I hope that it will mean that we'll have more space to talk about things that maybe wouldn't feel so comfortable in a formal radio environment"
