The final two Operation Transformation leaders for Series 11 were revealed live on The Ray D’Arcy Show today. Guest-host Brenda Donohue was joined in studio by one of the show’s experts, Ciara Kelly.
Ciara echoed the other experts in her approval of the new direction the show is taking, focusing on more than just the number on the scale. Each expert will undertake an essay on an aspect of health they feel strongly about.
Ciara told Brenda that she will be covering the issue of women and alcohol:
"We have massive problems in this country with anxiety and depression and all of that stuff, it’s huge. Alcohol is a depressant and people rarely put two and two together."
Kathryn Thomas was on the line to surprise the final two leaders. She described Leader number 4 as "a leader through and through".
Garda Sergeant David Cryan in Bridewell was fresh out of court when he got the good news that he had been chosen. See the moment Kathryn surprised him below.
David said that his daughter’s illness a few years ago started a trend of him not taking care of himself. He is determined to change this.
"I‘m overweight, there’s no point saying I’m not. I just want to learn how to lose it and keep it off."
Last but not least, Felicity Monroe was revealed as the final Operation Transformation leader for Series 11. Watch Kathryn surprise her at work below.
Felicity is an interior designer from Blanchardstown and was delighted to be one of the five leaders.
"I can’t wait. I’m just so thankful…I’m just so blessed. I’m really, really happy."
David and Felicity join Mary Diamond, Wayne O’Donnell and Sarah O’Callaghan to make up the team of leaders we will see on our screens in January.
