This year's Women of the Year Awards saw over 500 people, predominantly female, gathered to honour the achievements of so many talented, hard-working and inspirational role models.
Cecelia Ahearn, who has won two WOTY Awards in the past, was a judge at this year's event. James Patrice spoke to the author to find out exactly what was involved in choosing the winners. Watch the full interview above.
Unsung Heroes
"This year I had the honour of being a judge so I took hours and hours to go through the list of amazing women who are nominated and short-listed, it really puts you in your place," she laughed.
From the world of media and fashion, literature but also science and technology; things that I am not aware of, and people that you don't hear about, they are privately doing amazing things.
"This is the night for them, to not be quiet anymore, they are honoured and they get to be celebrated."
What makes a 'woman of the year'?
"Well I think its recognising people who are doing something unique, who are working through various challenges that they have in their own life," she explained.
