One for Ireland is a charity fundraising movement run for young people by young people with the Irish Youth Foundation. Once a year, the charity makes a big effort to bring a positive impact to one particular youth issue and for 2017 the focus is mental health.
How does it work?
The aim is to have every single person in Ireland donate one euro.
However, not one coin will be accepted. All donations will be processed electronically through retailers or online, to be processed free of charge by PayPal, from Friday, 28th April to Monday, 1st May.

Who benefits?
7 regions. 7 charities. A panel of experts helped to choose seven charities from across Ireland who would benefit from the money raised by One for Ireland.
- Exchange House (Dublin/Travelling community)
- ISPCC (West/National)
- Youthwork Ireland (South East- Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford)
- MyMind (South West/Cork)
- JIGSAW (Northwest (Donegal) Midlands (Centre at Offaly, Roscommon))
- AWARE (East- Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Meath)
- Samaritans (Mid-West, Limerick, Clare)
Who's involved?
RTÉ 2fm and RTÉ Radio 1 have jumped on board the project to help raise awareness with various interviews, challenges, and sketches.
1. Brent Pope
Rugby analyst and mental health campaigner Brent Pope was sent to Starbucks to have his first ever cup of coffee. Starbucks is one of the many retailers who will ask their customers to add €1 to the end of their bill to be donated to One for Ireland.
