Hosted by Pamela Flood, Healthy Appetite is an exciting new eight-part series that is all about food.

In each episode, Pamela challenges two of Ireland's top chefs to create two decadent dishes that esteemed dietitian Aveen Bannon will then deconstruct to reveal exactly how much fat, sugar and fibre is in each dish.

The chefs must then come up with healthier versions of their decadent dishes in a head to head cook-off.

Dietitian Aveen Bannon is laying down some foodie facts. Last week, we found out if coconut is really all that healthy while this week we're checking out the high protein diet.

"High protein diet is the latest diet fad but remember, you can only absorb 30g of protein in a sitting so eating more than that in one meal is a bit of a waste.

"One chicken breast or similar sized piece of meat or fish will contain about 30g of protein.

"An egg contains between 7 and 9 grams of protein.

"To maximize the absorption of protein, it is suggested that protein intake should be evenly distributed throughout the day which means it's a good idea to introduce some protein-rich food into each meal."
