Swim Ireland provide training, guidance and support to our clubs as well as running a comprehensive competition programme throughout the year.

But Swim Ireland's remit is wider than competitive sport, being tasked by Sport Ireland with encouraging participation at every level. Put simply, their goal is to Get Ireland Swimming.

Swim Ireland provide education and training to the nations swim teachers; training and development for our coaches and officials; learn to swim programmes for their schools and facilities; improver programmes for casual or lapsed swimmers and a whole range of activity to encourage the nation to enjoy the water.

Me and the Water

We are united in our love of the water. The early mornings. The after-school lessons. The first break of the waves. The tussle for the ball. The little voice that tells us to push on...to get back in the pool, go one more length, get out to the buoy.

From the Olympic or Paralympic swimmer, to the water polo player, to the daring diver, to the casual swimmer, those who take a dip in Dollymount in the summer and to the young children taking their first tentative paddles in the pool. We are working to make the aquatics more accessible, safer and enjoyable for all.

We all have a relationship with the water. Our own perspective, our own ambition, our own goals and sometimes even our own fears.

'Me and the Water' represents Swim Ireland's ambition to 'Get Ireland Swimming’
