ADULTS GET TRICKED BY FAKE NEWS TOO
The internet is a brilliant tool we can use to do so many things but because there is so much to see and do online it's easy to get lost and end up somewhere you didn't mean to go.
In this video our HTML Heroes, Archie and Ruby, give us their top tips for staying safe while browsing the Internet so you can know how to find the fun and trustworthy sites and avoid any nasty stuff online.
Key safety points:
When browsing a new website ask yourself these questions to help you decide it it's trustworthy or not:
- Who owns the website?
- Why was it made?
- Is it up to date?
- What will they do with your personal information?
A padlock and 'https’ at the beginning of a website address that means the site is secure and virus free.
If you’re not sure if something you find online is fake, true or meant for you - ask a parent or trusted adult they’ll know what to do!
Then download this to learn more on how to stay safe.
