How's this for considerate? Join Me in the Pines' David Geraghty has made sure there's a class album waiting for people when they get home from Electric Picnic. And as Monomania proves, he should be the first name on the list for next year's shindig.

This smart-as-it-is-compact record is slinky throughout, with the kind of pop suss that can sometimes be overlooked when available on our own doorstep.

Rolling up his sleeves in the truest 80s sense, the Bell X1 guitarist's tribute to the audio alchemy of that era suggests mixtape mastery at an early age. Then as now he'd hold his own on many a cassette.

On a collection built to get you moving, Geraghty's only misstep is to call a song Bad Blood and have the title in the chorus. That said, the track is otherwise as cool as its companions.

"I just want to dance with you," Geraghty purrs. He won't have to ask twice.
