The highly anticipated TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's acclaimed debut novel Conversations with Friends is coming to RTÉ in May.
The drama follows the global success of the TV adaptation of Rooney's book Normal People in 2020.
Conversations with Friends follows a 21-year-old Dublin-based college student called Frances, who, along with her friend Bobbi, becomes involved in the life of a married couple, Melissa and Nick.

Alison Oliver, an emerging talent from the Lir Academy in Dublin, plays Frances. American Honey's Sasha Lane stars as Bobbi. Joe Alwyn, best known for The Favourite, is Nick. Girls' Jemima Kirke plays Melissa.
Conversations with Friends is directed by Lenny Abrahamson, who is back after co-directing Normal People with Hettie Macdonald. Abrahamson co-directs the new series with Leanne Welham. Dublin company Element Pictures, which was behind Normal People, is producing the 12-part series.

Conversations with Friends will premiere on BBC Three, Hulu, and RTÉ, with further broadcast details set to be announced in the coming weeks.
