Killarney native Jessie Buckley has been announced as the recipient of the Kerry International Film Festival's 2020 Maureen O'Hara Award, saying that the honour "means so much" to her.
Buckley, who can currently be seen in the Netflix film I'm Thinking of Ending Things, is being recognised for "her exceptional work in both film and the arts".
"It means so much, when your own people and own country get behind you like this and say, 'You're doing alright, kid'," said the Wild Rose star. "That means a lot."

This year's Kerry International Film Festival runs from October 15 to 18 with streaming events and, it is hoped, screenings at Cinema Killarney.
Buckley is set to receive her award during an online interview.
