Until last month the pair were in lockdown in California with Sharknado actress Tara Reid. According to the twins' social media accounts they are still in the US state.

Reid, who also starred in American Pie, has been isolating with her boyfriend in her apartment in Los Angeles. Jedward became the couple's house guests just before St Patrick's Day.

Reid first met the twins when they all took part in Celebrity Big Brother in 2011 and they've been friends ever since. Jedward even had a small part in 2015's Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!.

X Factor boss Cowell has yet to respond to the twins.
