Wicklow actor Jack Reynor is to reunite with his Detroit co-star John Boyega for Borderland, an IRA thriller also starring Queen & Slim's Jodie Turner-Smith and Rogue One's Felicity Jones.
US entertainment trade website Deadline, which first reported the news of Reynor's casting, says Borderland is directed by siblings the Guard Brothers (The Uninvited), Thomas and Charles, who co-wrote the screenplay with Belfast writer Ronan Bennett (Top Boy, Public Enemies).
Borderland tells the story of an IRA member (played by Reynor) who sees his pregnant wife killed by an SAS sergeant (Boyega) when an ambush goes wrong.

He vows revenge and follows the SAS sergeant back to London as he takes up a new posting.
The plan is for Borderland to film in the UK next year. Actors Jamie Dornan and Sam Claflin had previously been linked to an earlier version of Borderland.
Commenting, the Guard Brothers said: "Borderland is a vengeance-fuelled chase movie, fusing some pulse-ticking action with a powerful message for our times. We're thrilled that the script, driven as much by character as it is by plot, has attracted such a first-rate cast."
