Midsomer Murders star Annette Badland, who plays pathologist Fleur Perkins, has said she wants Tom Hardy "on the slab" as a guest star.
Sixty-nine-year-old Badland - best known for her role as Aunt Babe in EastEnders - told the Press Association that the 42-year-old Venom star would make a great addition to the mayhem in Causton and its environs.
"Why not?" she asked.
"I haven't worked with him, but I would like to - and I would certainly like him on the slab."
"He is top of my list," Badland added.
The new series of Midsomer Murders - the 21st - begins on ITV on Tuesday, January 21 at 8:00pm, with Badland relishing her return as a character who "can give the boys as good as they get".
"It is wonderful to play a woman who is not young, who has a mind, who has lovers and a sex life and who has interesting hobbies and can give the boys as good as they get!" she said.
"When I first joined people referred to Fleur as a 'battle-axe', but Neil [co-star Neil Dudgeon, who plays DCI John Barnaby] said, 'If she were a man people would just say she is good at her job'.
"So in an elegant and non-aggressive way we are reminding people that believe it or not, there are quite a few of us women around."
