ITV has announced the start date for the first winter series of Love Island, but it has not confirmed who will host following Caroline Flack's departure.

The new series will kick off on Sunday, January 12, the network confirmed in a tweet which reads: "Inflatables at the ready... we're back on January 12th!"

However, there has been no announcement about who will replace Caroline Flack.

She stepped down from hosting duties following her arrest last week.

The 40-year-old presenter was charged with assault following a private domestic incident involving a man.

According to reports, Bray native Laura Whitmore is set to take over hosting the show.

The Irish TV star, who is dating the Love Island narrator Iain Stirling, has replaced Flack in a job before, when she took over I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! NOW! in 2011.
