Actress Laura Carmichael has said that she hopes the Downton Abbey film will not leave people disappointed after the cast recently reunited to film the film version.
Downton concluded with a Christmas Special in 2015 after six seasons and a film was long hoped for by fans of the show, with an official announcement coming earlier this year that the Crawley family would be back but on the big screen.
The Irish actor who played Tom Branson, Allen Leech gave us a sneak preview of what the film poster might look like on his social media account.
Speaking to the Radio Times, Carmichael said that when the cast were reunited for the film that it was "so much fun, we had such a dreamy time".

"It's much quicker doing a film than eight episodes of a series, so it felt like a holiday with mates. It was nostalgic.
She said that all the cast were very enthusiastic to get involved in the film as it was written by Julian Fellowes.

Carmichael will next be seen on the small screen in historical drama The Spanish Princess, which is inspired by the novels penned by Philippa Gregory.
Downton Abbey will be released in Irish cinemas on September 13.
