Steve Carell will lead a new workplace comedy series for Netflix based on US President Donald Trump's space force initiative.
The series, titled Space Force, has been created by the actor and Greg Daniels, who was behind the US version of The Office in which Carell played the leading role of Michael Scott.
A video announcing the series, which will follow the team tasked with creating a space-focused military service, was shared by Netflix and featured the 2001: A Space Odyssey music.

It said: "On June 18, 2018 the federal government announced the creation of a 6th major division of the United States Armed Forces.
"The goal of the new branch is 'to defend satellites from attack' and 'perform other space-related tasks' or something.
"This is the story of the men and women who have to figure it out."
The teaser clip said the series will be "coming soon" to the streaming platform.
Carell has had a busy year with roles in the movies Welcome to Marwen, Beautiful Boy and Vice.
