Irish actress Denise Gough has been cast in the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series.
HBO announced the stars that will join the main cast alongside Naomi Watts and Poldark's Josh Whitehouse in the currently unnamed prequel, with Gough, who hails from Ennis, Co. Clare, among the newly revealed line-up.
39-year-old Gough is an Olivier Award-winning actress for her theatre roles in People, Places and Things, and Angels in America.

Her television work includes The Walking Dead and The Fall, and films '71, Colette and Jimmy's Hall.
Star Wars: Episode IX's Naomi Ackie and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald star Jamie Campbell Bower will also star in the series.

Also announced were Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp and Toby Regbo.
British director SJ Clarkson will take charge of the pilot episode.
The Game Of Thrones prequel takes place thousands of years before the events of the main story line, with HBO saying it "chronicles the world's descent from the Age Of Heroes into its darkest hour".
The eighth and final season of Game Of Thrones will return to Sky Atlantic in April.
Gough's new film, the Keira Knightley-starring biopic Colette, has just opened in cinemas.
