Melissa McCarthy smuggled sandwiches into the Golden Globe Awards in case her fellow nominees missed out on dinner because they were on the red carpet.
McCarthy, who was nominated in the Best Actress - Drama category for her performance in Can You Ever Forgive Me?, told US entertainment publication Variety that she had brought 30 ham and cheese sandwiches with her to the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
"I've been handing them out to everyone," she said. "Next year, I'm bringing hot dogs."
McCarthy's generosity was acknowledged by The Favourite star Olivia Colman as she accepted the award for Best Actress - Musical or Comedy.
"Thank you for the sandwiches!" Colman said onstage.
Fellow star Jessica Chastain said McCarthy's initiative was a "good idea".
"By the time you get into the ballroom dinner has already been served, and you're always so hungry," she explained.
The Golden Globes ceremony and red carpet arrivals are on RTÉ2 on Monday night from 9:00pm.
Can You Ever Forgive Me? opens in Irish cinemas on February 1.
