Michael Sheen has revealed that Brexit and Donald Trump being elected US President led to the break-up of his relationship with fellow actor Sarah Silverman.
The couple had been together for four years and living in Los Angeles before they announced their split in December 2017.
Sheen said that he and Silverman felt in "different ways" that they wanted to get more involved in the political climate after Brexit and Trump's election.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, he explained: "After the Brexit vote, and the election where Trump became president, we both felt in different ways we wanted to get more involved.
"That led to her doing her show I Love You America and it led to me wanting to address the issues that I thought led some people to vote the way they did about Brexit".

Sheen added: "I felt a responsibility to do something, but it (meant) coming back (to Britain) - which was difficult for us, because we were very important to each other.
"But we both acknowledge that each of us had to do what we needed to do."
When announcing their split on Twitter, Silverman, currently starring in Ralph Breaks the Internet, joked that they had "consciously uncoupled", borrowing the infamous phrase from Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin.
The great @michaelsheen & I consciously uncoupled over Christmas. I mean, not "over Christmas" - like that wasn’t the fight that ended it. No fight. We just live in different countries & it got hard. Felt we should just tell y’all so u stop askin, "How’s Michael/How’s Sarah?"
