It is reported that Hollywood studios are very interested in Veep and The Thick of It creator Armando Iannucci's planned Donald Trump satire, which would tell the story of the US President being "drugged and moved to a replica White House, where he carries on thinking he's governing".
US entertainment publication Deadline says it has heard that eight studios are keen on the project, with The Death of Stalin writer-director Iannucci receiving one "big offer".
Iannucci pitched the project on Twitter earlier this week, writing: "Film pitch… Trump drugged and moved to a replica White House, where he carries on thinking he's governing. Millions spent on hiring actors to play his staff, Senators, news anchors, people at rallies. There you go. Studios, your highest bid please".

One of Iannucci's social media followers suggested the title Fake America Great Again.
The suggestion found favour with Iannucci and Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Catastrophe's Rob Delaney said they wanted to be involved in the film. Iannucci asked Dreyfus if she wanted to "play the real President".

"Er…looks like Hollywood's interested. Now what do we do?" asked Iannucci.

Dreyfus and author JK Rowling were among those who said Iannucci must move ahead and make the film.
