David Beckham and Victoria Beckham have denied rumours that they are divorcing, saying they are "very bizarre" and "an embarrassing waste of time".

Speculation was rife online that the couple, who have been married since 1999 and have four children together, were set to release a statement announcing their separation.

On Friday (June 8), Paddy Power bookmakers said they had suspending betting on the couple splitting which further fuelled the speculation.

However, a spokesperson for the couple has now categorically denied the claims, telling The Sun newspaper: "There is no statement due or divorce.

"This is just fake social media news. This is all very bizarre and an embarrassing waste of time."

On Friday, the fashion designer posted a message to her husband on Instagram along with picture of her and daughter Harper cuddling, saying they "love and miss" him.

They were last seen out together at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding on May 19 at Windsor Castle. "It was just the best day," the former Spice Girl previously said of the event.

Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, first met the Manchester United footballer 21 years ago at a charity football match.

They married in a lavish wedding ceremony in 1999 in Luttrellstown Castle in Dublin.

The couple share three sons and a daughter together, 19-year-old Brooklyn, 15-year-old Romeo, 13-year-old Cruz and Harper, six.
