For the third week in a row singer Lemar and his professional partner Melody Le Moal have survived the Dancing on Ice skate-off, with athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton and partner Hamish Gaman going home on the night.

All four judges - Jason Gardiner, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean - chose to keep Lemar and Le Moal in the ITV competition.

Shakes-Drayton said she was "not ready to go home".

"But unfortunately Lemar was the better skater today and unfortunately the journey ends," she added.

Ale Izquierdo and Max Evans

During the show there were cheers for professional skater Ale Izquierdo, who came through an injury scare to partner rugby player Max Evans.

Izquierdo was taken to hospital after a fall on Saturday during rehearsals.

Evans said the incident had affected his confidence and praised his partner for her courage.

Dancing on Ice continues on TV3 and ITV on Sunday at 6pm.
