Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino has said that she is grateful for all the support she has received in the wake of her allegations against Harvey Weinstein.
The actress, 50, alleges that Weinstein chased her around a room after he started massaging her shoulders in a Toronto hotel room in 1995.
She said that since then many actresses have told her about their experiences.
Sorvino said, "There's a lot of people who think, 'You all knew, you kept silent and you could have prevented so many people from being hurt. But I only knew of myself for a while and then was told only by one other young woman about her experience.
"We never exchanged notes on this. No one could imagine the serial level of predation that has since become open."
After the actress spoke out in the New Yorker magazine, she said that eight out of 10 people supported her and two out of 10 trolled her online.
Sorvino said that she told her then boyfriend Quentin Tarantino but he thought Weinstein was "just really crushing hard on me".
Weinstein has denied ever engaging in "non-consensual sexual conduct" after allegations were made by actresses Rose McGowan, Asia Argento, Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cara Delevingne
