The cast of Coronation Street gathered together in Manchester on Friday to pay their respects to the late Liz Dawn, who played Vera Duckworth on the soap for over 34 years.
The soap star passed away on September 25 following a 13-year battle with emphysema.
Coronation Street stars past and present paid their final respects to the show's stalwart at her funeral in Manchester’s Salford Cathedral.
Former cast mate, Sean Wilson, who played Martin Platt, said the day would be a celebration of her Liz's life.
Speaking to BBC Breakfast, he said: "She was great, great fun, and I think that needs to be celebrated.
"I used to say to her: 'Liz, you've got so much going into this character, I don't think you really know how much you're giving to British drama.’"

Among the mourners were Helen Worth, Antony Cotton and Kym Marsh. Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Connor, attended with her husband Sylvain.

Alan Halsall, whose character Tyrone Dobbs was taken in by Vera and husband Jack (Bill Tarmey) on the soap, attended with wife Lucy-Jo Hudson, who played Katy Harris.

Former stars Ken Morley, who played Reg Holdsworth, Bruce Jones, who played Les Battersby, and Alison King, who played Carla Connor, also turned out to pay their respects.

Born Sylvia Butterfield in Leeds in 1939, Liz Dawn started her showbusiness career as a nightclub singer and moved into acting in the late 1960s.

She made appearances in TV programmes such as All Creatures Great and Small and Colin Welland's play Leeds United in the 1970s.

She made her first appearance in Coronation Street in 1974 and had a recurring role as a factory worker until Vera's husband, Jack, first appeared in 1979 after which Vera became a regular on the Weatherfield cobblestones.
Ta-ra, chuck! Five cracking Vera Duckworth moments

The constantly bickering but clearly in love couple became one of the main sources of comic relief in the soap and proved immediately popular with viewers for their northern grit, humour and soul.

In 2007, three years after Dawn was diagnosed with emphysema, the makers of Coronation Street announced that she was to be written out of the show - at her own request.

In one of the most memorable episodes in Coronation Street history on January 18, 2008, Vera Duckworth died in her sleep. Dawn reprised her role in another landmark episode two years later, when Vera's spirit danced with husband Jack as he passed away.
