Liam Gallagher has promised that he won't be reinventing himself or "going off on a space jazz odyssey" on his debut solo album, As You Were.
The former Oasis frontman has collaborated with Greg Kurstin of The Bird and The Bee, who has previously worked with Adele, Lily Allen, Beck and who also produced Foo Fighters' forthcoming new album, Concrete and Gold.
As You Were s out on October 6, just one month before Liam's brother Noel releases his third album as Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.
Liam's solo outing is his first album since the break-up of his post-Oasis band Beady Eye and he added that "It’s the Lennon Cold Turkey vibe, The Stones, the classics. But done my way, now."
Gallagher, who played Dublin's Olympia Theatre recently and who also played an emotional show in his hometown of Manchester in the week after the terrorist attacks on the city, has unveiled the black and white artwork for As You Were - a shot taken by French photographer and fashion designer Hedi Slimane, who has previously worked with Pete Doherty and Phoenix.

A box set of the album will also include a coloured 12" vinyl and a print designed by Klaus Voorman, the artist behind the cover of The Beatles’ Revolver in 1966.

Gallagher began recording As You Were after he penned Bold, a song he first performed in a pub on one of his frequent visits to Ireland, and as well as working with Greg Kurstin, has also collaborated with producer Dan Grech-Marguerat.
Album track Greedy Soul is said to have a Bo Diddley beat and Liam wrote "mega-ballad" For What It’s Worth with Simon Aldred of Cherry Ghost.
As You Were is now available to pre-order here.
