Fine Gael leader Dr. Garret FitzGerald hits out at Pearse Wyse over misleading the Seanad on Wood Quay.
Garret FitzGerald Fine Gael leader explains to reporter Kevin Healy why the Junior Minister Pearse Wyse had misled the Seanad and the public over the Wood Quay controversy. A Supreme Court ruling from the previous day permits Dublin Corporation to go ahead with the building of civic offices on the Wood Quay site.
Garret FitzGerald also criticises the government's inaction over protecting the site at Wood Quay. According to Garret FitzGerald "The government have behaved disgracefully in this matter." He continues by describing the events at Wood Quay as "a crime against the heritage of this country".
FitzGerald argues that the plans for the site should have changed as soon as it was discovered that it was of archaeological and cultural importance.
