Irish language presenter and sports commentator, Seán Bán Breathnach, or SBB as he is also known, presents 'Spórt an tSathairn' on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, featuring sporting reports, interviews and previews.
Seán is renowned for his passionate, emotional and thrilling commentary of sporting events. While his commentary is in Irish, the listener does not need to understand the Irish language to pick up on the passion in his commentary. This passion is evident in his recent commentary when boxer Katie Taylor won gold at the London Olympics, 2012. Breathnach won a Jacob's Award in 1991 for his sports commentary.
While best known for his sports commentary, SBB began his career as a presenter on 'Imeall' a folk music programme.
Tá Seán Bán Breathnach ar bís i rith troid Katie Taylor i gcoinne Sofya Ochigava sna Cluichí Oilimpeacha i Londain. Tá áthas an domhain air nuair a bhaineann sí an cluiche 10-8.
