The Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) Leader, Ian Paisley, has defended his plans to visit the three loyalists, alleged members of the Ulster Resistance, in prison in Paris. The three were arrested in the company of a South African diplomat. It is alleged they were attempting to take part in an arms deal with South Africa.
