Marking the anniversary a military mass was held in Arbour Hill attended by President Patrick Hillery, Minister of Defence Paddy Cooney, Teachta Dála (TD), Defence Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Gerald (Gerry) O'Sullivan Distinguished Service Medal (DSM) and senior army officers.
Later a ceremony was held at Collins Barracks, addressed by Minister of Defence Paddy Cooney.

Fergal Quinn, Chairman of An Post also unveiled a special stamp to commemorate twenty-five years of peacekeeping.
