Republic of Ireland are ahead after the first leg of a European Nations Cup tie in Dublin.
Goals from Liam Tuohy and Noel Cantwell delighted a packed Dalymount Park in Dublin for the first leg of the European Nations Cup tie between the Republic of Ireland and Czechoslovakia.
Ireland opened the scoring after 22 minutes when Tommy Hamilton put in a cross that was headed to the net by his Shamrock Rovers team mate Liam Tuohy. A second goal came for the Republic of Ireland five minutes before half time. Czech defender Hildebrand was judged to have handled the ball inside the box and the referee awarded a penalty. Noel Cantwell made no mistake in making the score 2-0.
