Advice and cookery demonstrations for all at the Gas Comany theatre in Dublin.

Mrs Anthony gives cookery demonstrations at the Gas Company showrooms on D'Olier Street in Dublin. With Christmas approaching she has been focusing on food for the festive season. Younger women attend the classes in the evening after work while housewives attend courses in the Gas Company theatre during the day.

The turkey with potatoes around it to roast usually I put in a mince pie on a plate. A custard on the base plate for the baby and brussels sprouts to cook on the base plate at the bottom. That fills the oven.

Anybody is welcome to come along an see the cookery demonstrations. With the dinner in the oven Mrs Anthony shows her audience how to make and decorate fancy cakes. Christmas cake has featured this week as have mince pies and a yule log.

It is made to represent a tree. It is made of a Swiss roll with chocolate in it. It is decorated with the butter icing

With the demonstrations complete the audience can ask Mrs Anthony questions.
