Green Party members have two issues to vote on that will determine participation in government.
Green Party membership is due to vote on whether or not to support the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) and whether or not to approve a renegotiated Programme for Government. The party is due to meet on 10 October.
The Greens are unusual in Irish politics. They take internal party democracy very seriously indeed.
Green Party leader John Gormley has written to all party members outlining the plans for the meeting. He confirms that a two thirds majority will be required to approve a new Programme for Government. If the motion is not passed, John Gormley says that the Green Party will not continue in government.
One-third of the members present can trigger an election.
If two thirds of pary members vote against supporting NAMA, the Greens will leave government.
For Green Party members, everything depends on the contents of the new Programme for Government.
