The Stereophonics, Mick Hucknall and a number of artists are set to re-record Beatles debut album in 12 hours.

A host of artists are lined up to re-record The Beatles’ debut album Please Please Me for a special project for the BBC.

Stereophonics and Mick Hucknall will be among the acts involved in the recording at Abbey Road to mark the album’s 50th anniversary.

Reprising The Beatles iconic single session in 1963, the artists are aiming to complete the recording in 12 hours.

They are using the same studio as the fab four and will record each track in the order it appears on the album.

The project is set to take place on February 11 and will be broadcast live on BBC 2.

It will also be filmed for a special documentary titled 12 Hours to Please Me for BBC Four, to be broadcast on February 15.

Other guests expected to attend include engineer Richard Langham and Beatles press officer Tony Barrow who were both present at the original recording.
