American sitcom Will & Grace writer Gary Janetti has crossed the Atlantic to pen a new comedy for ITV.
Vicious will star Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi as an ageing gay couple who live in a small Covent Garden flat, along with their old friend Violet, played by former Rising Damp star Frances De La Tour.
The trio spend their days reading books, walking their dog and bickering – until their life together is turned upside down when a young man becomes their new upstairs neighbour.
ITV's Myfanwy Moore said: "ITV is thrilled this exciting and bold sitcom, with stellar performers and writing talent is to join the increasing slate of new-look comedy shows on the channel."
