The Stone Roses’ comeback gigs may be in jeopardy after an alleged onstage bust-up culminating in drummer Alan 'Reni' Wren storming offstage during the band's concert in Holland on Tuesday night.
The members of the cult group appeared to have put 15 years of acrimony behind them when they joined forces last year to announce plans for a 2012 summer tour across Europe.
It is thought that the band had finished playing their main set at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam when front man Brown returned to the stage and told the crowd, hoping for an encore, that "the drummer’s gone home".
NME.com reports that the crowd were unsure as to whether the news about Reni was a joke.
"I'm not joking, the drummer's gone home," Brown is reported to have continued, according to a NME source at the gig.
"Get all your aggro out on me, I can take it."
After Brown left the stage, a venue DJ started to play music, prompting the disappointed revellers to boo and throw beer.
