Ronan Keating is set to play a rock star tryng to overcome the sudden death of his child in an upcoming film entitled Rockpool.
The When You Say Nothing At All singer will play one half of a singing duo whose lives are turned around when their child dies, according to The Irish Daily Star newspaper.
The Boyzone star's film debut, in comedy movie Goddess, will be showcased at the Cannes Film Festival in May of this year.
The newspaper further reported that the singer spoke about the problems posed by his career change saying: "When a singer tries to become an actor it's very, very difficult for the people involved in the film to believe unless you prove first that you can do it."
