Following her six-Grammy award win, singer Adele has played down remarks that she is set to take an extended break from the music industry.

In an interview with Vogue magazine, she said that she was considering taking a break from working for "four or five years".

However she wrote on her blog: "Five years? More like five days!"

Speaking after her enormous success at the Grammys, her spokesperson said it was "just an off-hand comment".

Her manager Jonathan Dickins told Billboard magazine that following her throat surgery: "We have to ease her back.

"I'm gonna [sic] let her enjoy this moment and not drive her mad.
"We'll sit down and work out what we're doing going forward."

The 23-year-old is due to perform at the Brit Awards in London on February 21, where she is nominated in three categories.
