Michael Fassbender - Nominated for Actor in a Lead Role in a Feature Film

There are 40 categories in this year's IFTAs, which will be hosted by Simon Delaney and broadcast on RTÉ Television from Dublin's Convention Centre Dublin (CCD).

Love/Hate received ten television nominations, while Game of Thrones earned five, followed by Corp + Anam with four.

Leading the film nominations, Albert Nobbs, Stella Days and The Guard each received nine nominations, while Charlie Casanova received four and The Other Side of Sleep has three.

Fighting it out in the Best Actor category are Michael Fassbender - (Shame), Brendan Gleeson (The Guard), Ciarán Hinds (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and Martin Sheen (Stella Days).

Aoife Duffin (Behold The Lamb), Antonia Campbell Hughes (The Other Side of Sleep), Marcella Plunkett (Stella Days) and Saoirse Ronan (Hanna) are competing for the Best Actress gong.

Speaking about the awards Academy CEO, Aine Moriarty said:
