Absolutely Fabulous has been revived for two 20th anniversary specials and will lead BBC One's festive lineup.
The Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley sitcom is expected to feature in the Christmas Day schedule alongside special editions of Doctor Who, EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing.
Former Only Fools and Horses star David Jason's first new BBC comedy in 20 years, The Royal Bodyguard, will also air over the winter period.
And although The Royle Family are taking a break this Christmas, lead actress Sue Johnston will still be seen on in one-off comedy called Lapland.
Elsewhere, Ray Winstone, Gillian Anderson and David Suchet star in an adaptation of Great Expectations, while Stephen Fry, Victoria Wood and Christopher Eccleston feature in an updated version of The Borrowers.
