Colin Farrell will star alongside Noomi Rapace in the mob drama, Dead Man Down.
The thriller will be helmed by the director of the original Swedish adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Niels Arden Oplev. That film launched Rapace to stardom.
The film’s producers will include JH Wyman (Fringe), who also wrote the script.
Dead Man Down is a revenge tale a la Badlands in which a gangster hitman (Farrell) falls for a disfigured former beauty (Rapace) before the duo embark on a violent killing spree. It is slated for production in early 2012.
Rapace will next be seen on screen in Guy Richie’s revisionist Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, due in December, and in next summer’s Ridley Scott’s sci-fi epic Prometheus.
Farrell will next be seen reprising the Schwarzenegger role in the new version of Total Recall and is reuniting with his In Bruges director Martin McDonagh for the offbeat thriller Seven Psychopaths.
