RTÉ Radio 1 entertainment reporter Brenda Donohue has set a new world record by staying in a pod on the revolving Big Wheel at Dublin's Point Village for over 24 hours in order to raise money for the Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust.

The Mooney reporter embarked on the world record bid in order to help the Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust buy an apartment close to Crumlin Children's Hospital for the families of patients.

Writing on Twitter after her success, she said: "Done smash d world record well done t all # #BIGWheelrecord. Where's me leaba."
