Lady Gaga has lost her legal dispute with a fan over the registration of the website, ladygaga.org.

The artist formerly known as Stefani Germanotta submitted the complaint last August to the National Arbitration Forum alleging that the website was registered in bad faith and in violation of her trademark.

But the owner of the site countered by saying that the site was simply a non-commercial, unofficial fan site and that it did not “have any sponsored links or links to third-party websites which market and sell merchandise bearing Complainant’s trademark.”
It was, the owner added, merely a website that promoted her favourite artist, a site that was giving Gaga free publicity.

Last Wednesday the three panellists on the National Arbitration Forum agreed when they ruled in favour of the owner.

Lady Gaga is reported to be set to play a major concert at Croke Park next year.
