Adele set off waterworks by paying tribute to Amy Winehouse during her long-awaited return to stage.
The Set Fire To The Rain singer marked what would have been Winehouse’s 28th birthday on Wednesday night with a version of Bob Dylan’s To Make You Feel My Love.
Overcoming a chest infection to resume her shows, Adele explained that the crowd would know her tribute song well, after contestant Rebecca Ferguson covered the ballad on last year’s X-Factor series.
Adele make the crowd all teary eyed as she sang a rendition of To Make You Feel My Love for her 28th birthday.
Speaking to the crowd the singer said: “This is for Amy Winehouse, whose birthday it is today.”
According to the Metro newspaper an audience member stated: “I’ve never been to a gig where I’ve seen so many people wiping away their tears…including myself.”
