Irish actor Liam Cunningham has been cast in a major role in the second series of HBO's Game of Thrones.
EW.com reports that The Guard star will play Davos Seaworth, "a family man and former smuggler" who is nicknamed 'The Onion Knight'.
The character is a fan favourite from writer George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels on which the series is based.
Shooting on the second series of Game of Thrones begins in Belfast this month.
