Keith Duffy's son Jay will make his debut in Hollyoaks next month.
The 15-year-old has been cast as Brendan Brady's (Emmett J Scanlan) son Declan and makes his debut in the August 2 episode.
Speaking to The Star about his son's casting, Duffy said: "We are delighted for him and he's working extremely hard. He is only 15 and the feedback from Hollyoaks is he's a natural."
In a Late Late Show interview in May, Duffy revealed that the teenager was spotted by an acting agent in a school play.
"I have to say, this is nothing to do with me being in the business at all - an agent came to see him when he was doing Peter Pan," said Duffy.
"They were looking for an Irish guy in Hollyoaks. They rang Jay up, he went to London, did an audition, did a screen test, they called him back and they gave him the job."
