Julia Roberts has said that she struggled to film kissing scenes with Tom Hanks in their new dramatic comedy, or dramedy, Larry Crowne.
In an interview with US show Extra, the Oscar winning actress spoke about her character, a teacher who becomes involved with her student, a former Navy vet (Hanks).
Speaking about their kissing scenes, she said that the intimate moments between the characters were difficult as the stars are good friends in real life.
Roberts said: "I just had to go for it 'cause he's my buddy and his wife is my buddy and they're friends with my husband.
"It gets complicated in all kinds of ways. That's another movie. I mean, it's just weird!"
Describing how the pair felt when they first rehearsed the scenes Hanks said: "It was embarrassing. We get all giggly."
Roberts added that she felt: "Swoony!"
Hanks, who also co-wrote, produced and directed the film, explained: "It is one whammy kiss. She was the 'wham,' and I was the 'me!'"
Larry Crowne opens in Irish cinemas this Friday, July 1.
