According to reports, Jack P. Shepherd has got engaged to his girlfriend Lauren Shippey, who is also the mother of his two-year-old daughter Nyla.
The news of the proposal comes after Sammy Milewski gave birth to Jack's son, Greyson, following a one-night stand behind Lauren's back, but friends say the couple are now keen to move on with their lives
A source close to the couple told the News of the World newspaper: "Jack and Lauren are both delighted. It has been a very difficult time for them with Sammy having the baby. Lauren's been mature and understands Jack made a terrible mistake. Now he has made the ultimate statement that he wants to be with her for the rest of his life."
Following the birth of Greyson in January, Jack - who plays David Platt in the ITV1 soap - underwent a DNA test that later proved he was the father. However, he is yet to see his son as he wants to dedicate his time to Lauren and Nyla but friends insist he will pay maintenance.
The ring is said to have cost £3,000,and the pair are now planning their wedding for next year.
