'There's Something About Mary' directors, the Farrelly brothers have revealed that a sequel to ‘Dumb and Dumber’ could be on the cards.
According to The Huffington Post, Bobby said: "['Dumb and Dumber'] has run a bunch of times on TV in the states, and kids will come up and they'll be able to quote lines from that - lines that I've long forgotten.
"So, we’re starting to think about what those two dimwits would be doing."
Farrelly added that the sequel would be even better if the original stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels signed up.
He said: "Maybe if we got those two guys back together, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, that might be a worthwhile sequel - and that ball is in motion."
"We're starting to think about what those two dimwits would be doing twenty-years later in life, and hopefully we'll be able to come up with something worthy of a sequel."
However, he refused to confirm that the sequel is certain, saying he would have to be absolutely sure it would be worthwhile before officially going ahead.
He said: "We don’t want to get caught into that ‘telling the same story twice’, that routine and that’s what a lot of sequels are. And so, we just haven’t done it yet."
The 1994 comedy 'Dumb and Dumber' told the tale of intellectually-challenged duo Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne.
The Farrelly brothers previously made a 'Dumb and Dumberer' prequel, 'When Harry Met Lloyd' in 2003, although it didn’t feature the film’s original stars.
